20160419 Fr. Wade Tuesday Morning Talk

Good Morning!

This is Father Wade here and I think you can’t guess where I am.
I’m at a place where people come to “rest in peace.”
That’s right, I’m in a cemetery.

Sometimes it is very peaceful here.
But I’ve come to take a morning walk and I’m thinking,
“Life is short. Your life is short. My life is short.”

If I could encourage you to do one thing today: pick up the phone and call someone. Ask for forgiveness. Tell them you love them. Send a note. Send a card. Buy some balloons for your kid. Leave some candy for your wife. Do something creative to tell the people around you that you love them. Because soon, you won’t be able to!

Our life is like smoke – swish – it’s gone!

Remember you’re only one breath away from eternity.
Make every moment count.

God bless you.
Have a fantastic day.
We’ll see you again soon.

Peace be with you!

A Monday Morning Encouraging Word

Hey, Good morning!
This is Father Wade wishing you a fantastic and absolutely brilliant day.

It’s such a beautiful day here in Florida.
I’m so thankful to be alive!
You know, this is the only day that I have;
it’s the only day that you have… to make a difference –
to change our lives.
We can make the little changes today.

I just read something the other day, that
“worry doesn’t take, doesn’t steal the sorrow from tomorrow, but worry steals the strength for this day.”

So let’s not worry about tomorrow.
Let’s concentrate on today.
When we concentrate on today,
let’s remember to give the Lord an opportunity to work in our lives.

That’s what I would like you to do today:
Give the Lord an opportunity to work in your life!
How do I do that?
Well, one-way is praying “the Jesus Prayer”.

You can say,
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God,
have mercy on me, a sinner.”

That’s asking all that God is to be merciful, to come into your life and change and transform your life, because we need help.

That’s it for today! God bless you!
This is Father Wade wishing you an
absolutely powerful and awesome week!

How Many of Us Are Blamers?

When I first came across this video of Brené Brown about “How Many of Us Are Blamers?”, I thought it was humorous. Now, after understanding the message, I find it annoying… because it’s so true!

During Great Lent, Orthodox Christians often pray a prayer attributed to St. Ephrem of Syria:

O Lord and Master of my life,
give me not the spirit of
idle curiosity (meddling),
lust for power
and idle talk.
But grant unto me, Thy servant, a spirit of
chastity (integrity),
and love.
Yea, O Lord and King,
grant me to see mine own faults
and not to condemn my brother.
For blessed art Thou unto the ages of ages.

It’s the “lust for power” or the desire to be in control of everything that is the opposite of patience and results in the tendency of “finding blame.” Think about it.

Baby Steps!

Shelter From The Storm
Shelter From The Storm

Lord, You are my shelter from the storm…
There’s just too much stuff going on!
Fierce winds surround me!
I don’t think I can move!

I have goals and dreams that have been on hold.
I’ve been waiting and waiting for the storm to clear.
But it hasn’t. There’s always one right after another.
Do you know what I mean?

One business coach repeatedly says,
“It’s all about taking baby steps.”

“Baby Steps?”

I don’t even think I can crawl, much less take a step.

But today is here. Today, this is my step in pursuit of my dream.
The Lord is my shelter from the storm.
The Lord shepherds me. I have everything I need.

Do you have an overwhelming goal or dream?
Why not take a baby step today?

Until next time…

I’m also a husband and father, speaker and marketing coach.
Three words that I would choose to describe myself:
Encourager, Motivator, and Inspirer.

Since there is so much criticism in this world, I’ll keep mine to a minimum and save that for the experts! There are so many opinions.
Why should mine be any different? Because I’m different.

My messages of encouragement and inspiration won’t reach everyone.
But they will reach those that need it – when they need it.

I’m a man of faith – man of the cloth. I’m also a sinner.
This means that I will have my doubts and fears, ups and downs,
and I won’t always respond – I may react. But I’ll try and keep that
to a minimum as well. But it also means that I will always look for hope!
I will return to compassion and forgiveness, reconciliation and restoration. I’m a medicine man that shares words and music as a doctor would dispense drugs. I also pray. (More about that to follow.)

Once more… avanté!
